National Volunteer Week

National Volunteer Week (NVW) is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteers. From Monday 17 May to Sunday 23 May 2021, NVW will celebrate the significant contribution of Australia’s almost six million volunteers. Each year these volunteers dedicate over 600 million hours to help others.

The Hinchinbrook Way Volunteer Ambassadors enhance the experience for our visitors and locals at a range of facilities. Council would like to thank our Hinchinbrook Way Volunteer Ambassadors who dedicate their time and play a vital role within the organisation.

The Rotary Park Fountain will be coloured red during this week to recognise and celebrate those who volunteer within any organisation in Hinchinbrook Shire.

Small Business Month

May is Queensland Small Business Month (QSBM), celebrating small businesses who make a vital contribution to our economy.

The QSBM celebrations will include a Famil at Mungalla Station and traditional Kupp Murri feast 4.00pm Thursday 27 May 2021. Followed by a Business Breakfast with Gus Balbontin 7.00am Friday 28 May 2021. The Business Breakfast with Gus Balbontin and Famil at Mungalla Station is proudly supported by the Queensland Government, Hinchinbrook Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Tourism and Mungalla Aboriginal Tours.
