Construction has begun on an additional floating walkway at the popular Dungeness Boat Ramp, Lucinda.
Mayor Ramon Jayo said the new floating walkway would be a great new asset for local boaties and would increase the capacity of the existing boat ramp, reflecting the feedback received from the community.
‘The Dungeness floating walkway will assist local boaties with loading and disembarking trailer-boat passengers, as well as easing congestion on the water during peak usage periods.’
‘Council thanks all members of the community who provided feedback in relation to the walkway, your feedback is important to Council and is considered in the planning of works throughout the district.’
The project funded by the State Government is expected to be completed by Christmas this year.
Dungeness boat ramp users are advised that there may be interruptions to the use of the boat ramp area during the construction phase of the floating walkway; Council would like to thank the community for their patience and consideration during this time.
