Sports Reserve, Dungeness Road Lucinda

The Sports Reserve on Dungeness Road, Lucinda is currently reserved for sport and recreation. Council's vision for the Reserve is to establish a land bank for future Residential, Mixed Use, Tourism or Commercial purposes. This public consultation provides the community with an opportunity to discuss and develop options with Council for future uses to the benefit of the community. 

Council is currently the Trustee of the Sports Reserve which is located at 1-7 Dungeness Road, Lucinda consisting of the following lots and areas:

2. Lot 381 ON SP100781

3. Lot 146 ON L46911

Lot Size:

1. 3.256601ha

2. 4.4721ha

3. 1.214047ha

Possible Development Options 

General Residential Zone 

A General Residential Zone is land which is specifically suitable for residential purposes for growth and diversity. A General Residential Zone is commonly applied to most residential areas where housing developments and moderate growth occurs.

Mixed Use Zone 

Mixed Use Zone provides for a mix of activities that may include business, retail, residential, tourist accommodation and associated services, service industry and low impact industrial uses.  The majority of Mixed Use land was previously included in the Village Zone.

Nature Based Tourism Zone 

Nature-Based Tourism is a broad category for numerous different tourism experiences, which includes hiking, fishing, birdwatching, camping, biking etc. Nature-Based Tourism is generated and presented to entice travellers to visit the Shire and boost tourism.

Short Term Accommodation

Short Term Accommodation is when guests stay for a limited amount of time in hotels, units or rentals for a cheaper price providing temporary or specialised residential accommodation. A short stay may mean you enter a contract for a company, a short holiday or an interim period between selling homes, this benefits home owners but is also beneficial for the people temporarily utilising the space.

Dwelling House

Dwelling house means a residential use of premises involving:

  1. One dwelling for a single household and any domestic outbuildings associated with the dwelling; or
  2. One dwelling for a single household, a secondary dwelling, and any domestic outbuildings associated with either dwelling.

All Lucinda residents and landowners are encouraged to provide feedback during the public consultation period. 

Feedback is to be provided in writing and can be delivered to Council:

Written and electronic submissions must be received by Council no later than 5.00pm on Friday 25 January 2019.
