This is exciting news... for the Hinchinbrook Shire

The community of Ingham has been invited to participate in a Commonwealth Government funded program to assist in the installation of "Wireless Boradband Internet" infrastructure and services in a small number of North Queensland towns.  The online world brings benefits to all Ingham residents, businesses and producers.

Many in the community have already offered to help the program in any way they can, for the delivery of improved Broadband capability in their local community.  Many are simply passionate local residents "just outside" the ADSL coverage from their local exchange; others are business people who see the strategic importance of improved Broadband services for the furture of their local businesses.  Whichever your case we require your help!

In order to attract a "Private Sector" wireless provider who can offer Broadband services to the wider community we need to demonstrate there is sufficient commercial and residential demand.
