Hinchinbrook Shire’s cultural direction and development – have your say
The Hinchinbrook Shire Council wants you to be part of the review of the Council’s cultural policy and update the Hinchinbrook cultural development plan, and Council has engaged a consultant to help with this
The convenor of the project steering committee, Cr Sherry Kaurila, said, “Council has set up a small group of four people who will oversee the project, and we want as many people as possible - from across the Shire - to contribute ideas in the coming weeks”
“Your comments and ideas are welcome through a Workshop and a questionnaire, and you don’t have to be a ‘culture vulture’. If you enjoy music, entertainment, and any kind of art expression - the Australian-Italian Festival or Maraka or look forward to artistic developments – then you’re enjoying our cultural activities.”
Cr Kaurila said, “We want your opinion on the current plan, any ideas on how things could be improved and what you think is missing, or any cultural activity which should be introduced.”
To help people comment on different activities and make suggestions, you can review Council's Cultural Development Plan and complete the questionnaire below.
Completed questionnaires should be left at the front counter or desk at the Council office or the Library. The closing date for your submission is Friday 29 August, 2008.
“Pick up a questionnaire and fill it in, or come along to the community workshop will be held Thursday August 21 at the Shire offices, at 5:30pm. We will also be conducting personal interviews, so that a wide range of opinions are gained” said Cr Kaurila.
