Hinchinbrook Shire Council is reviewing its Foreshore Management Plans for Lucinda and Forrest Beach.
The community is invited to contribute to the review by responding to the survey which can be found by clicking here.
Hard copy surveys are also available at Council’s main office, 25 Lannercost Street, Ingham.
A Community Session will be held on Saturday 22 April 2017, details of the session will be advertised once they become available.
The Foreshore Management Plan Survey will close on Sunday 30 April 2017.

CHEMCLEAR WASTE CHEMICAL DISPOSAL - REGISTER BY 28 APRIL 2017
AgSafe are conducting their ChemClear collection throughout Queensland in 2017. To arrange to dispose of your unwanted chemicals you can register with ChemClear online at www.chemclear.org.au or phone them on 1800 008 182. Registrations close on 28 April 2017.
Eligible chemicals are free. Eligibility requirements for free collection are:
- Readable product labels
- Not mixed with any other product
- Within two years of the expiry date or deregistration.
Collection of other chemicals can be quoted on registration.

STORYTIME FOREVER AND HINCHINBROOK BABY WELCOMING CEREMONY
Hinchinbrook Shire Council would like to celebrate families and welcome newborn babies to our community! The Storytime Forever event will include entertainment from special guests La Luna Youth Arts, story reading, craft activities and the Hinchinbrook Baby Welcoming Ceremony all amongst a fantastic picnic in the park.
The Storytime Forever event will be held at TYTO Parklands from 10am – 1pm Tuesday 4 April, with the Hinchinbrook Baby Welcoming Ceremony beginning at 11am.
Councillor Mary Brown has said, ‘Storytime Forever will be a wonderful event for young children and their families’.
‘By directly supporting parents and caregivers in providing key language and literacy skills to our region's under 5's, Hinchinbrook Shire Library staff are actively supporting the intellectual growth of our future community members’.
At the Hinchinbrook Baby Welcoming Ceremony Councillors will present babies and their families with a gift bag containing a personalised certificate, sapling and surprise. With the intention that families will plant the sapling to commemorate their new baby and watch as they both grow toward the future of the Hinchinbrook Shire.
The event is a FREE event and booking is not necessary however if you would like to participate in the Hinchinbrook Baby Welcoming Ceremony, which is open to babies up to 13 months of age, please register by 30 March 2017.
