Council resolved at the May General Meeting to adopt the Hinchinbrook Shire Council’s
Customer Service Charter.
The Charter has been developed to outline the service levels and response times that community members can expect when dealing with Council
Mayor Ramon Jayo has said ‘The Charter demonstrates our commitment to provide the community with professional, timely and friendly levels of customer service.’

The Business Development Survey is designed to inform Council about current business activities within the region and will be used to assess how we are able to support and contribute to the growth and development of the Hinchinbrook Shire.
Business owners and managers are encouraged to complete the survey as this will result in an accurate assessment of the current business environment and inform future decision making.

CHEMCLEAR WASTE CHEMICAL DISPOSAL - REGISTER BY 28 APRIL 2017
AgSafe are conducting their ChemClear collection throughout Queensland in 2017. To arrange to dispose of your unwanted chemicals you can register with ChemClear online at www.chemclear.org.au or phone them on 1800 008 182. Registrations close on 28 April 2017.
Eligible chemicals are free. Eligibility requirements for free collection are:
- Readable product labels
- Not mixed with any other product
- Within two years of the expiry date or deregistration.
Collection of other chemicals can be quoted on registration.

FIND YOUR FUTURE IN HINCHINBROOK
As part of the Economic Growth and Development Plan, Hinchinbrook Shire Council will partner with the Chamber of Commerce to host a career pathways event Find Your Future in Hinchinbrook.
Find Your Future in Hinchinbrook will include discussions, guest speakers, interactive displays and information that aim to trigger new ideas and non-traditional employment avenues, encouraging diversification of the economy within the Hinchinbrook Shire, as well as highlighting current core career path opportunities within the community, connecting those seeking future employment or training with employers and trainers in the region.
Councillor Mary Brown has said ‘The feedback from participants and attendees alike, from last year’s inaugural Find your Future in Hinchinbrook event, was very positive and encouraging. In response council is very pleased to again be hosting this extremely important event to showcase the diversity of training, employment and career options that are available in this community.’
‘I would encourage any parent who may have students attending, to take this opportunity to accompany them and meet with the variety of business, training and employer representatives who will be available to discuss career and tertiary education options.’
‘For those who may be looking to up skill, explore new career options or have an interest in business or training opportunities available in this shire, I would also encourage them to attend this event to gain a better understanding of what options are available and how they can be delivered’.
