Footpath Dining Footpath Dining

What is a Foothpath Seating/Outdoor Dining Permit?

This permit is required for outdoor dining areas, (which means designated areas on footpaths, where tables and chairs may be provided by the food premises for customers' comfort and consumption of food) unless otherwise approved by Council. This permit is only applied on public land not private property. For example tables and chairs outside a shop in a shopping centre are not permitted. Tables and Chairs on a roadside footpath do require a permit.

In August of this year Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) approved the presence of companion dogs in outdoor dining areas.

This decision does not obligate food businesses to allow dogs in their outdoor dining areas.
