An environmental expo showcasing the natural and cultural highlights of the Hinchinbrook Shire will be held 22nd & 23 August 2009. The fun filled weekend event will feature exhibitions, displays, community engagement and activities with a particular focus on the Tyto wetlands precinct, a 120 hectare wetland site located in close proximity to Ingham. The wetland integrates lagoons, interperative signs, lookouts and bird hides. The extensive walking tracks throughout the wetlands will allow visitors the unique opportunity to view wildlife closely without interference or disturbance to the wildlife and their habitat.
